Job Description

- Full-time in-person role based in Halifax within the company’s Technical Publications team.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, convert, and transcribe technical data into SGML, HTML, or XML formats.
- Update technical publications based on the latest system or equipment configuration.
- Write and revise operation and maintenance manuals and related technical documents.
- Follow departmental writing and editing procedures during document preparation.
- Provide instructions for supporting illustrations when required.
- Produce clear and structured documentation based on project specifications and standards.
- Meet assigned project priorities and documentation deadlines.
- Complete additional duties assigned within the Technical Publications team.
Requirements
- Candidate can work with SGML, XML, and HTML.
- Can work with various PC tools and software applications.
- Familiarity with configuration management practices.
- Post secondary education required; technical writing education preferred.
- The job applicant needs to have experience working as a technical writer or in a similar position.
- The applicant should possess knowledge of S1000D and ATA and CALs and MIL/STD specifications.
- The candidate should possess knowledge about aircraft and naval and land military systems which include their mechanical and electrical and electronic components.
