Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for delivering capital projects focused on integrating remote monitoring and control equipment within the power system, including design, development, and testing for substations, generating stations, and distribution systems.
- The candidate will engage in operational planning and engineering of electrical utility installations while continuing professional development in the engineering field.
- The candidate will undertake a range of engineering assignments and be responsible for a project or portion of a project, including providing technical leadership, reviewing work, and ensuring compliance with standards and procedures.
- The candidate will use initiative and judgment to develop innovative engineering solutions, applying theoretical and practical knowledge to analyze and resolve problems, and consulting senior engineers when needed.
- The candidate will maintain strong and constructive relationships with internal and external clients, including service providers, contractors, and suppliers.

Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering from an institution accredited by Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
- The candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in automation or control systems.
- The candidate must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC.
- The candidate must have experience and a strong interest in working with utility-based Ethernet control networks, including configuration and testing of remote control equipment, PLC programming, troubleshooting methodologies, and LAN/WAN technologies focused on utility applications.
- The candidate should have experience with DNP3, networking protocols, cyber security practices, and delivering machine-to-machine (M2M) networking applications.
- The candidate should have experience in programming GE Remote Terminal Units.
- The candidate should have knowledge of NERC standards, which will be considered an asset.
- The candidate must have strong communication, technical writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must be a collaborative team player with strong client relationship skills.
