Job DescriptionÂ
- Candidates working in this post are required to identify test requirements and intervals for major electrical equipment in Power Production plants.
- Applicants for this post are also appointed at this post to review the results of electrical equipment testing including generators, isolated phase bus duct systems, motors, etc.
- They’re also appointed at this post to provide engineering support to the capital program for new technologies, replacement of obsolete equipment, protection upgrades, etc.
- Candidates are also required to provide support during maintenance outages, unplanned outages and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Applicants are also appointed to provide technical advice to thermal plant personnel and provide training and guidance on electrical equipment or electrical-related procedures working at this post.
Job requirementÂ
- Applicants must have registered, or are eligible for registration, with Engineers Nova Scotia as a Professional Engineer to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must acquire a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent to be eligible for this post.
- They must have at least of 7 years experience in an industrial environment with a preference for a generating environment to get preferred for this post.
- Applicants must acquire prior experience in leading major capital projects based on the replacement or refurbishment of electrical equipment.
- Candidates must have worked as a team member on projects that span more than one discipline.
- Applicants for this post must acquire proven excellent safety records to be considered eligible for this post.
Work settingÂ
- They must have dedicated experience in generator maintenance, major overhauls, excitation systems, and medium and low-voltage switchgear to be eligible for this post.
