Job Description

  • Self Checkout Attendant supports customer transactions and assistance within the self service checkout area.
  • This is a permanent hourly position with Walmart Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized self checkout area.
  • Remove debris, spills and unnecessary objects from checkout spaces.
  • Promote company programs, credit card services and product protection plans.
  • Support charitable and company sponsored initiatives when applicable.
  • Assist customers with self checkout transactions.
  • Monitor checkout activity and complete required transaction checks.
  • Explain checkout interventions in a friendly and reassuring manner.
  • Refer cash handling and technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
  • Respond to EAS alarms according to company procedures.
  • Complete the Failure to Deactivate log accurately.
  • Return Scan & Go scanners to designated storage locations after use.
