Job Description
- The candidate will be required to collect and pick orchard cones and pollen using orchard ladders and lifts.
- The candidate will be required to plant trees, rootstock, and grafted ramets into orchards, holding beds, and pots.
- The candidate will maintain grounds, orchards, holding areas, and plantations, including mowing, weeding, applying fertilizers, attaching tree labels and tags, performing field layout and rock picking, and assisting other staff.
- The candidate will be required to clean and dispose of brush and debris.
- The candidate will be required to clean, test, and maintain the irrigation system, including checking caps and lines and flushing lines.
- The candidate will be required to clean and maintain buildings, including gutter cleaning, washing, sweeping, organizing, and cleanup.
- The candidate will be required to clean and maintain tools and equipment.
- The candidate will be required to operate weed eaters, orchard lifts, mowers, pressure washers, pruners, ladders, shovels, and hand tools.
- The candidate will be required to operate ATVs, golf carts, side-by-side vehicles, trucks, and other licensed vehicles under a BC Class 5 Driverโs Licence.
- The candidate will be required to complete daily time sheets reporting hours by task.
- The candidate will be required to carry out other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
- Preference may be given to applicants with manual labour or outdoor working experience.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience working with plants, such as tree planter, gardener, landscaper, orchard worker, or cone picker, or equivalent training and experience.
- The candidate must have basic knowledge of safe work practices and maintain a strong safety attitude.
- The candidate must be able to follow instructions and requirements, complete tasks on time, and work independently as well as in a team.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to read labels and instructions and communicate clearly.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.

Work conditions and physical capabilities
- The candidate must be physically fit and able to lift supplies such as bags of fertilizer and cone buckets and operate equipment including orchard lifts, pruners, weed eaters, and mowers on an ongoing basis.
- The candidate must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold winter weather, and be exposed to allergens such as pollen, grass, insects, chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, as well as work at heights using lifts and ladders.
