Job Description
- Do market research, and analyze industry trends as they shift.
- Create economic development policies and strategic initiatives that actually make sense.
- Show up for the City at conferences , trade shows and meetings with partners.
- Draft funding proposals, reports, presentations, and policy recommendations.
- Support Toronto’s AI Economic Development Strategy and the wider innovation ecosystem.
- Promote Toronto as a worldwide hub for technology and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Create and roll out longer-term economic development strategies, and keep them moving.
- Lead projects that support growth for the technology and innovation sector.
- Look into industry trends, competitiveness, and new technology directions.
- Prepare presentations, reports, funding proposals ,and strategic recommendations too.
- Build relationships with businesses, investors, universities and other academic institutions, plus government counterparts.
Requirements
- You bring strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, no question.
- You have solid customer service instincts, plus problem solving, and sound decision-making.
- You can obtain a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and travel when needed.
- You’re flexible enough for occasional evenings and weekends, if required.
