Job Description
- The candidate must be able to operate buses, school buses, or streetcars in order to transport passengers.
- The candidate must report delays, mechanical problems, and accidents.
- The candidate will be expected to direct passengers during emergency evacuation procedures.
- The candidate must deal with the general public.
- The candidate will be required to communicate with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers via two-way radio systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring children’s safety when boarding and exiting buses, as well as crossing the street while the bus is stopped.
- The candidate must maintain control of student activities while travelling to avoid distractions or behaviours that could jeopardise safety.
- The candidate will be expected to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections as well as oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
- The candidate must have a Class 5/5F/G licence. (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles).
- The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
- The candidate should have excellent oral communication skill.
- The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
- The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate should be a good team player.
