Responsibilities
- Sort, collect, and deliver mail safely and on time
- Learn and maintain knowledge of local roads, customers, and delivery points
- Make sure mail stays secure during handling and delivery
- Process postal services like change of address and damaged mail items
- Wear company identification and keep it visible during deliveries
- Lift and carry items up to 50 lb
- Drive and complete deliveries in different weather and traffic conditions
Requirements
- A valid permanent provincial driver’s license (Class 5 or G) is required
- A safe driving record must be maintained
- A personal vehicle meeting cargo and equipment requirements is required
- The vehicle must have automatic transmission and power windows
- The vehicle must have a metal roof-top and power outlet for company signage
- The vehicle should allow loading of large or bulky items, preferably with a hatchback
- Required automobile liability insurance must be provided and maintained
- The insurance company must be informed about vehicle use for work purposes
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and handle delivery tasks is required
