Responsibilities

  • Sort, collect, and deliver mail safely and on time
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of local roads, customers, and delivery points
  • Make sure mail stays secure during handling and delivery
  • Process postal services like change of address and damaged mail items
  • Wear company identification and keep it visible during deliveries
  • Lift and carry items up to 50 lb
  • Drive and complete deliveries in different weather and traffic conditions

Requirements

  • A valid permanent provincial driver’s license (Class 5 or G) is required
  • A safe driving record must be maintained
  • A personal vehicle meeting cargo and equipment requirements is required
  • The vehicle must have automatic transmission and power windows
  • The vehicle must have a metal roof-top and power outlet for company signage
  • The vehicle should allow loading of large or bulky items, preferably with a hatchback
  • Required automobile liability insurance must be provided and maintained
  • The insurance company must be informed about vehicle use for work purposes
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and handle delivery tasks is required
