Job Description

• The candidate must consult with other health care professionals when developing treatment plans for clients.
• The candidate will be responsible for administering massage techniques through soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, joint pain, and lower grade mobilizations.
• The candidate must apply finger and hand pressure to specific points on the body.
• The candidate will be responsible for assessing clients, conducting range of motion and muscle tests, and proposing treatment plans.
• The candidate must explain procedures, risks, and benefits to clients.
• The candidate must maintain records of treatments given.
• The candidate must massage and knead the muscles and soft tissues of the body.
• The candidate will be responsible for suggesting home care instructions and providing information about techniques.
• The candidate will be responsible for providing relaxation massages.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have certification from a provincial or territorial association for massage therapists.
• The candidate should be accurate.
• The candidate should be client focused.
• The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
• The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.
• The candidate must have excellent time management skills.

• The candidate must work in a spa, hospital/medical facility or clinic.
