Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for attracting a strong and diverse pool of talent to BC Hydro.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing recruitment and selection expertise to support the delivery of business requirements.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing full-cycle recruiting services, including developing sourcing strategies, screening qualified candidates, and presenting top candidates for consideration.
- The candidate will be responsible for developing candidate pools for recurring and high-volume hiring needs while maintaining candidate interest within the talent pipeline.
- The candidate will be responsible for identifying and communicating hiring trends and recruitment issues while developing strategies to maintain a strong candidate pipeline.
- The candidate will be responsible for developing creative sourcing strategies to attract candidates for hard-to-fill Engineering and technical positions.
- The candidate will develop and implement staffing strategies to build a qualified, diverse, and inclusive candidate pool that reflects the organization’s values.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring hiring managers and interview team members are adequately prepared throughout the interview process and that interviews are conducted efficiently, professionally, and in compliance with applicable collective agreements.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing the candidate process, acting as a candidate advocate, assessing candidate experience, evaluating skill levels, managing the offer process, conducting reference checks, and making salary recommendations.
- The candidate will be responsible for negotiating and exchanging information with leadership teams at all organizational levels.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing advice and support in the interpretation and administration of collective agreements.
- The candidate will be responsible for conducting ongoing follow-up with clients to ensure staffing plans and candidate needs are met.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to contribute positively and consistently in a fast-paced, evolving work environment while effectively prioritizing multiple responsibilities and managing time efficiently.
- The candidate will be responsible for continuously improving service delivery for candidates, new hires, hiring managers, and colleagues.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must possess post-secondary education in a related field, such as Human Resource Management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- The candidate should hold a professional designation such as CPHR, which will be considered an asset.
- The candidate must have a minimum of four years of experience in a full-cycle, in-house recruitment role.
- The candidate must have experience in various aspects of the recruitment process, including developing recruitment and sourcing strategies, establishing assessment criteria, shortlisting candidates for hard-to-fill and high-volume recruitment, managing the candidate process from job application to onboarding, conducting interviews and assessments, negotiating offers, and providing advice and support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- The candidate must have experience working in a high-volume recruitment setting.
- The candidate must have experience developing creative sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill technical positions.
- The candidate should have experience recruiting for technical positions, including Engineers, Project Managers, Technology professionals, and other related roles, which will be considered an asset.
- The candidate must have experience working as part of a recruitment team in a large corporate environment.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong judgment in assessing people and a commitment to identifying the best candidate based on technical qualifications and organizational fit.
- The candidate must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to hiring departments, hiring managers, and candidates while maintaining communication regarding the status of the hiring process.
- The candidate should have experience recruiting in a work environment governed by one or more collective agreements, which is highly desirable.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage complex client relationships, provide strong customer consultative support, and work effectively within a large team.
- The candidate must possess proven organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment with competing demands.
- The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tact, diplomacy, and persuasive influence.
- The candidate must have experience using e-Recruit or similar Applicant Tracking Systems.
