Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for attracting a strong and diverse pool of talent to BC Hydro.
- The candidate will be responsible for delivering recruitment and selection expertise to support business requirements.
- The candidate will provide full-cycle recruiting services, including developing sourcing strategies, screening qualified candidates, and presenting top candidates to the business for consideration.
- The candidate will be responsible for building candidate pools to support reoccurring and high-volume hiring requirements and maintaining candidate engagement within the talent pipeline.
- The candidate will identify and communicate hiring trends and issues for their specific client group and develop strategies to maintain a solid pipeline of candidates.
- The candidate will be responsible for developing creative strategies to source and attract candidates for hard-to-fill positions.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing high-volume recruitment activities, including the hiring of apprentices and contact centre staff.
- The candidate will implement staffing strategies to provide a qualified, inclusive, and diverse candidate pool that reflects the values of the organization.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing hiring managers and interview teams for the interview process and ensuring interviews are conducted efficiently, professionally, and in compliance with collective agreements, when applicable.
- The candidate will manage the candidate process and act as a candidate advocate by assessing candidate experience, evaluating skill levels, managing the offer process, conducting reference checks, and making salary recommendations.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing advice and support in the interpretation and administration of collective agreements.
- The candidate will follow up regularly with clients to confirm staffing plans and ensure candidates’ needs are met.
- The candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive contribution in a fast-paced, evolving work environment and effectively prioritizing multiple functions and tasks while managing time efficiently.
- The candidate will continuously improve service delivery for key stakeholders, including candidates, new hires, hiring managers, and colleagues.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must possess post-secondary education in a related field, such as Human Resource Management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- The candidate should hold a professional designation such as CPHR, which will be considered an asset.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of related experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offers, onboarding, and hiring manager support.
- The candidate must have experience working in a high-volume recruitment setting.
- The candidate must have experience developing creative sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill technical positions.
- The candidate must have experience working as part of a recruitment team in a large corporate environment.
- The candidate will be considered an asset if they have experience recruiting in a workplace covered by one or more collective agreements.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage complex client relationships, provide strong customer consultative skills, and work effectively in a large team.
- The candidate must possess proven organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and work effectively in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment with competing demands.
- The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on tact, diplomacy, and persuasive influence.
- The candidate must have experience using e-Recruit or similar Applicant Tracking Systems.
