Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to receive prescriptions from patients, follow provincial regulatory conditions and assess the prescription for completeness.
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to perform computer functions as directed by the Pharmacist, Data Entry Price Check and Patient Information Entry/Update.
- They’re also appointed for competent interpretation and processing of written prescriptions including Latin abbreviations, drug name recognition, dosage calculations, Refills, Report Generation, and Patient Profile checks working at this post.
- They’re also required to measure & prepare appropriate products, labelling and organise for pharmacist checking, gaining necessary approvals for verbal refills working at this post.
- They’re also appointed to maintain Inventory Control, assisting Pharmacists in maintaining appropriate stock levels of drugs and supplies.
- They’re required for general housekeeping, stocking Prescription filling supplies, keeping the dispensary clean, organized and neat, maintaining a clean work environment as part of the team approach and maintaining & cleaning packaging & dispensing equipment, computers, fax machines, etc.
- They’re also appointed for clerical organization, filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, correspondence and memos and completing any administrative support functions assigned working at this post.
- They’re also appointed to assist with OTC Operations and ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned by OTC Manager or Pharmacist.
