Job Description
- Candidates accounted at this post to assist with installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of minor irrigation projects.
- They’re accountable at this post to assist with the renovation of Sports fields working at this post.
- People who applied for this post are required to act as the Parks Person I (Horticulture) in their absence or as appointed working at this post.
- They’re accountable at this post to participate in litter and garbage collection when required.
- Candidates applied for this post are required to provide leadership to team members, training on equipment, policies and standards, record keeping and assist with establishing work plans working at this post.
- They’re also accountable at this post to answer inquiries from the public and city staff working at this post.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have completed a post-secondary college or university program in Horticulture or Turf Management with 3 years of experience in Park Operations or the equivalent combination of education and experience to be eligible for this post.
- They must attain a valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License along with a valid Class “DZ” Ontario Driver’s License to be eligible for this post.
- They must have a valid standard first aid and CPR ‘C’ is required or needs to be obtained before the employment start date to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates applying for this post must attain the ability to operate and maintain small and large vehicles and equipment.
- Candidates must be comfortable working primarily in parkland with exposure to fluctuating temperatures, varying weather conditions, and contaminants of various kinds to be considered as an asset for this post.
