Job Description
- The candidate will perform duties in accordance with the IBEW Collective Agreement.
- The candidate should hold Journeyperson certification in machine work and welding related to diesel generating stations.
- The candidate should be a certified Journeyperson capable of working in diesel and NIA generating stations.
- The candidate will be responsible for installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and record-keeping related to overhauls of mechanical equipment and mechanical components of electrical equipment in NIA generating stations or at headquarters.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a Journeyperson qualification as a Diesel Engine Mechanic, Heavy Duty Mechanic, or an equivalent trade certification.
- The candidate must have a valid Class 5 British Columbia driverโs licence.
- The candidate must have experience in maintaining, repairing, overhauling, and troubleshooting diesel generating mechanical equipment such as skid steers, air compressors, fuel and oil systems, pumps, and coolant systems.
- The candidate must have experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and overhaul of diesel engines used in diesel generation.
- The candidate must have knowledge of safety standards, including Safety Practice Regulations and Power System Safety Protection.
- The candidate must have general trades knowledge, including tool usage, welding, machining, cranes, and lifting equipment.
- The candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Conditions
- The candidate will be required to work from the Surrey headquarters and spend up to 50% of working time at remote field locations, including weekends.
