- Manufacturing Test & Equipment Engineering Technician is a technical manufacturing support role within Tesla’s engineering team.
- The role supports the development and deployment of custom testing equipment for Tesla products.
- The position involves working with advanced automation systems, battery testing equipment and power electronics technologies.

Responsibilities
- Perform electro mechanical assembly of electrical panels, control systems and mechanical structures.
- Build tools using drawings, schematics and written or verbal instructions.
- Assist with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting during equipment builds and testing.
- Participate in equipment development and prototype projects.
- Manage multiple projects and maintain organized work practices.
- Work with engineering, manufacturing and operations teams.
- Support procurement activities, inventory control and material handling.
- Assist with package pickup and related logistics tasks.
- Support deployment, installation and startup of test equipment at Tesla facilities and contract manufacturers.
Requirements
- Over 4 years of work background building control panels and or manufacturing equipment is required.
- You need a solid grasp of mechanical systems, production machinery, industrial sensing devices and the automation equipment side of things.
- You should be good at reading and making sense of mechanical drawings, plus electrical schematics, not just skimming them.
- Experience with using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes and variable direct current power supplies is expected too.
- Work background with pneumatic systems, fluid systems and high voltage AC and DC systems is required.
- Can work with drill presses, band saws, hand tools and wire soldering and crimping tasks.
- Strong skills in cable management and high density wire routing are required.
- Can lift 20-40 pounds during daily work.
- Skilled in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Willing to travel within Canada, internationally and to other business locations as needed.
- Knowledge of UL 508A and NFPA 79 standards is considered an asset.
- Previous work background with equipment deployment at production facilities is considered an asset.
