Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • Candidates with prior related work experience are preferred.
  • The candidate must have completed high school according to Manitoba standards.
  • The candidate must have successfully completed a Nursing Assistant programme or an equivalent (both the Health Care Aide and Unit Clerk programs).
  • The candidate must be familiar with medical terminology (75 percent pass mark).
  • The candidate must be fluent in an Indigenous language and/or be familiar with Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • During the probation period, the selected candidate will receive information and/or training on the following topics: Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions), Regional, site, and unit policies and procedures, Roles and responsibilities of members of the health care team.
  • The candidate must have basic keyboarding skills.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication.
  • The candidate should have general skills and the ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities related to the position’s duties.
  • The candidate should be able to organise and prioritise assigned workload.
  • The candidate should be able to identify and pursue self-development opportunities.
  • The candidate should be able to respond to a variety of concurrent demands.
  • The candidate should be able to work as part of a team and seek assistance as needed.
  • The candidate should have general administrative and secretarial skills, as well as the ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities related to the position’s duties.
