WRHA has released a notification in which they’re inviting candidates for the post of Nurse Practitioner. They are responsible for delivering comprehensive health care services to children and youth within the program presenting psychiatric, mental health, substance use, sexual health, and general health concerns. They are also responsible for holistic, evidence-based care while embracing a harm-reduction approach to care to ensure the highest quality of support to youth.

Job description
- Candidates have to systematically obtain health histories, perform comprehensive health assessments and exams.
- They identify health needs and risks, establish urgency and establish a plan of care.
- They have to order, conduct and interpret diagnostic and relevant screening procedures.
- Candidates must have ability to synthesize data from health history, physical exam and diagnostic tests to formulate appropriate differential medical diagnoses.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience in Community Health and/or Primary Health Care and/or Public Health and active registration in the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba in the RN – Extended Practice Register.
- They have to demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Current CPR certification.
- They must attain experience in development and evaluation in Health Promotion and Education programs as assets.
Work setting
- They must have a valid drivers license, access to a vehicle.
- They must have knowledge of community resources.
- Candidates must have working knowledge of basic computer usage and Microsoft Office.
- They must have demonstrated effective communication skills.
