Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for accompanying patients to outdoor recreational activities.
  • The candidate must assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up, and assembling medical equipment.
  • The candidate must assist with the maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
  • The candidate must perform other duties related to patient care and comfort.
  • The candidate must perform other tasks related to personal care.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supplying and emptying bed pans.
  • The candidate must take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • The candidate must serve meal trays and assist patients with their meals.
  • The candidate must be able to safely and effectively weigh, lift, turn, and position patients in a manner that ensures their well-being and safety.
  • The candidate will be responsible for delivering messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens across departments.
  • The candidate will be responsible for making beds and maintaining the cleanliness of patient rooms.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising patients’ exercise routines.
  • The candidate must administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas.
  • The candidate must maintain the inventory of supplies.
  • The candidate will be responsible for bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
  • The candidate must transport patients between care facilities.
  • The candidate must be able to transport patients in a wheelchair or stretcher.
  • The candidate must answer call signals to determine the needs of patients.
  • The candidate must collect specimens.
  • The candidate must prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing surgical areas.
  • The candidate must be able to administer first aid in emergencies.
  • The candidate must administer first aid and provide other assistance as needed.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year, or possess equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
