Job Description

• The candidate must clean meats in preparation for processing or cutting.
• The candidate must cut carcasses, sides, and quarters.
• The candidate will be responsible for preparing special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
• The candidate must cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
• The candidate must wrap and package prepared meats.
• The candidate must remove the bones from the meat.
• The candidate must weigh meats for sale.
• The candidate must cut poultry into parts.
• The candidate will have to price meat products.
• The candidate will be responsible for cleaning and preparing fish and shellfish.
• The candidate must sell meat to customers.
• The candidate will be responsible for cutting fish into steaks and fillets.
• The candidate must supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers.
• The candidate must grind meats.
• The candidate must train meat cutters.
• The candidate must prepare special orders.
• The candidate must prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• Fluency in Panjabi is an asset.
• The candidate should be accurate.
• The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
• The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
• The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
• The candidate must be able to work in cold/refrigerated conditions.

Work setting

• The candidate must work in a supermarket/grocery store and a butcher shop.
