Job Description

  • The candidate must sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • The candidate must be able to use industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other waste.
  • The candidate must empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • The candidate must clean windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • The candidate must balance the rent roll.
  • The candidate will be responsible for contacting contractors for establishment repairs and maintenance.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing minor repairs to appliances.
  • The candidate must perform security and safety checks.
  • The candidate must supervise other workers.
  • The candidate must move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • The candidate must perform other routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair.
  • The candidate must clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • The candidate must clear snow and ice from walkways and parking lots.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work site environment

  • The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

  • The candidate must work in a apartment or condominium complex, office building, commercial building, shopping centre or mall and retail service establishment.
  • The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate whether the candidate would be ready to move into a new city/different city for a job.

Experience and specialization

Area of work experience

  • The candidate should have experience in cleaning and production.

Equipment

  • The candidate must have experience using industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers, carpet cleaning machines, polishing machines, waxing machines, steam cleaners, power tools, security systems, swimming pool maintenance and cleaning equipment, upholstery cleaning equipment, and snowblowers.
