Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing livestock health issues.
  • The candidate must be able to handle animals.
  • The candidate must perform livestock feeding.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tracking and reporting on the current feed inventory.
  • The candidate will be responsible for treating livestock health issues.
  • The candidate will be responsible for fertilizing and spraying crops.
  • The candidate must harvest crops.
  • The candidate will be responsible for feeding and tending animals.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
  • The candidate must perform general farm duties.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, hay farming, livestock combination farming, oilseed (except soybean) farming, other grain farming, wheat farming, grain, oil, and forage crop farming, and livestock farming.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty, wet/damp, and dirty conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
  • The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
  • The candidate must work on farms.

Experience and specialization

Type of crops

  • The crops are canola.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience operating seed drills, sprayers or dusters, tractors, combine harvesters, haying equipment, loaders, manure spreaders, swathers, tillage equipment, and skidsteers.

Type of industry experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience in the trucking industry.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about agricultural livestock services, beef cattle, and welding.
