Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for delivering independent psychological assessments for youth engaged in the justice system, both in community settings and in custody.
  • The candidate must work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in delivering specialized counseling and therapeutic support.
  • The candidate must provide supervision and guidance to junior psychologists and students, and collaborate on research projects.
  • The candidate will play an important role in strengthening assessment and treatment services that promote the mental health and rehabilitation of young people in the justice system.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and be registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
  • The candidate with a Ph.D. who is eligible for registration with the College of CHCPBC may be considered for appointment at a lower classification.
  • The candidate must obtain registration as a Licensed Psychologist to maintain ongoing employment.
  • The candidate must confirm that education obtained outside of Canada has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
  • The candidate must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or an equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
  • The candidate must have three years of experience and/or training in Clinical Adolescent Psychology.
  • The candidate must have completed post graduate training in Forensic Psychology.
  • The candidate must reside in British Columbia at the time of employment as per BC Public Service guidelines.
