Land Assistant

Land Assistant supports the Real Estate and Development Services team with daily land administration activities and customer support. This role helps manage land related records, documents and requests connected to City properties and development projects.

In this position, you will review land title documents, prepare legal paper work and provide information to internal teams and external customers. This role seems like a good fit for someone who likes detailed admin tasks, research and deal with real estate data day to day.

Job Description

  • Land Assistant supports daily real estate and land administration services.
  • The routine follows five days per week with one day off every three week cycle.
  • The role includes office based work with flexible work from home options based on operational needs.
  • The position supports real estate, land titles, leasing, sales and development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and review land title document searches.
  • Review legal survey plans and prepare required documents.
  • Support Land Titles, Encroachments, Acquisitions, Sales, Leasing or Corporate Land Administration teams.
  • Prepare letters of consent for land titles, subdivisions and condominium plans.
  • Inform survey companies and land surveyors about concerns with submitted plans or agreements.
  • Provide information and support to customers and City business units.

Requirements

  • Complete a High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED with at least one job related course.
  • Have at least 3 years of work background in real estate.
  • Can interpret and explain legislation, legal survey plans, engineering drawings and architectural drawings.
  • Can conduct research and provide real estate information related to land transactions and development.
  • Have strong interaction skills, customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Have strong research, time management and work management skills.
  • Can manage changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Provide proof of qualifications before employment.
