Job Description
- GSE Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of airport GSE that support airline ground operations.
- GSE mechanics work on a team in a fast paced and safety conscious environment.
- Scheduled for approximately 40 hours/week. Permanent, full-time unionized position.
- Part of the future strategy for Air Canada’s Airports Canada (AC) and CX Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Air Canada occupies a position for a GSE Mechanic in its Toronto, Canada office.
- Ensure that all equipment is dependable and ready for scheduled on-time operations.
- Be part of a Team in a fast paced, Safety Critical environment.
- Do the preventive maintenance tasks that are planned, and that conform to the regulations and safety measures.
- Pinpoint the issues existing in the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic areas.
- Make use of the circuit diagrams for a very accurate troubleshooting of the equipment.
Requirements
- Have attained a high school diploma.
- Possess a provincial license or a Red Seal endorsement in the relevant automotive or heavy duty trade.
- Have worked at least one year in the relevant trade.
- Be ready to take and pass a pre-employment exam, a medical exam, and drug/alcohol tests.
- Be legally allowed to work in Canada and get the necessary security clearance(s).
- Show up to work on time, be reliable, and have good safety consciousness in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player and good communicator.
- Bilingualism will be a plus, but not a requirement
