Pilot Crew Resource Planning Analyst

The Pilot Crew Resource Planning Analyst is responsible for the effective planning of pilot reserve availability periods which are required for the reliability of flight operations. This position reports to the Manager of Block and RAP Administration and concentrates on making reserve availability plans while also assisting Crew Scheduling through the coordination of operations and systems.

Job Description

  • This position is highly analytical with a primary focus on pilot reserve availability and resource planning.
  • Co-ordinates with RAP planning and system support.
  • Helps in piloting coverage while adhering to the stipulated contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Very much involved with flight operations planning groups.
  • Based in the office position of Toronto within Flight Operations Planning.
  • Full-time job of around 40 hours every week

Responsibilities

  • Assigns and plans Reserve Availability Periods (RAPs) for pilots on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis.
  • Tracks pilot coverage on a daily basis and modifies reserve availability according to changes in operational requirements.
  • Delivers RAP scheduling and rescheduling news promptly and accurately to pilots.
  • Works with Crew Schedulers to achieve the best pilot deployment among fleets and bases with the least amount of reserve pilots.
  • Checks daily and assures adherence to the regulations (CARs) and the contract (ALPA).
  • Gives Crew Scheduling management coverage risk analysis and operational support.

Requirements

  • A university degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a 24/7 operation with shift work requirement.
  • Knowledge of crew scheduling practices at a global airline level, including Air Canada.
  • Ability to write reports and letters in a clear and professional manner
    Knowledge in MS Excel.
  • Experience with crew scheduling systems
  • Adaptable, self driven, and open to working overtime if necessary.
  • Authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Bilingual candidates will be preferred in case of tie in qualifications.
