Job Description

  • The candidate should be able to perform general farm duties
  • The candidate would be responsible for paying and receiving payments for goods
  • The candidate should have knowledge and capability to operate farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate would be in charge of supervising the loading and unloading of goods.
  • The candidate would be responsible for monitoring animal health.
  • The candidate should be responsible for feeding the animals.
  • The candidate will be required to clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens.
  • The candidate would be responsible for operating milking equipment to milk cows
  • The candidate will be required to work in conjunction with large animal vets to provide herd health management, veterinary treatments, and routine vaccinations.
  • The candidate will be required to consult with animal nutritionists and livestock feed sales representatives to create feeding plans that yield maximum milk production levels.
  • The candidate will be required to identify sick animals and work with veterinarian to determine proper treatment.
  • The candidate will be required to assist in breeding programs including artificial inseminations and synchronization
  • The candidate will be required to clean milking parlor after each milking
  • The candidate must ensure milk quality and safety is not compromised by following standards
  • The candidate will be required to maintain high standards of animal welfare
  • The candidate will be required to take milk samples from tanks
  • The candidate will be required to clean tanks after milk is picked up by truck
  • The candidate will be required to review the pens, buildings and other areas to ensure the areas remain hygienic to reduce the risk of injury and disease to the cattle and other workers.
  • The candidate would be responsible for providing food and water to cattle and ensure that supplies remain well stocked so that the livestock never go hungry.
  • The candidate will be required to use tools to move feed, animals and other equipment to the appropriate areas on the farm in an efficient manner.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain trucks, tractors, milking equipment and other gear to ensure they remain in working order and reduce any repair costs.
  • The candidate will be required to carry out repair and maintenance work for farm machinery and equipment if and when required.
  • The candidate should ensure farm activities comply with government regulations.
  • The candidate should ensure uninterrupted water supply to the farm.
  • The candidate should be responsible for maintaining adequate stock for animal foods, medicines etc.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain quality control and production records
  • The candidate will be required to co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • The candidate will be required to develop work schedules and establish procedures
  • The candidate will be required to supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • The candidate will be expected to keep work records and logs.
  • The candidate will be required to ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • Previous experience in farming industry is not mandatory.
  • The candidate would be responsible for farm animal grooming.
  • The candidate would be in charge of keeping an inventory of the necessary feed ingredients.
  • The candidate should be proficient in handling farm machineries like Tractor and Loader.
  • Knowledge of farming best practices would be an added advantage.
  • The candidate must be physically fit.
  • The candidate should have good communication skill.
  • The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • The candidate should be punctual.
  • The candidate should be flexible.
