Job Description

The candidate would be responsible for sorting and packing fruits and vegetables.
The candidate will be required to pick row and orchard crops.
The candidate will be responsible for selecting and picking of produce according to size and ripeness and disregard rotting and over ripped produce.
The candidate will be responsible for inspecting each item to ensure its freshness.
The candidate will be required to load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, and products for transport.
The candidate will be expected to keep work areas clean, orderly, and well-organized.
The candidate will be required to removes dry leaf debris from crop using both hands.
The candidate must examine the quality of the product and get it ready for the market.
The candidate will be expected to uphold and follow food safety policies and practises.

The candidate should be fluent in English language.
The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
The candidate should be a good team player with enough interpersonal and judge-mental skills.

The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 45 kg (100 lbs).

Equipment and Machinery Experience

The candidate should have prior experience operating a tractor, loader, fruit harvester, farm truck, and forklift.

Area of Work Experience

The candidate should be familiar with plant growth and development, irrigation and drainage, field crops.

Security and Safety

The candidate should be bondable and easily communicate
The candidate should have a thorough Criminal record check.

Work Site Environment

The candidate should be willing to work in an outdoor environment for long hours, including tolerance for pests and thorns.
The candidate will be required to work in wet or damp, dusty, hot and cold or refrigerated environments.
The candidate will be required to work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Transportation/Travel Information

The candidate should be willing to travel.
The candidate should have valid driver’s licence

Landscape and Horticulture Technicians and Specialists Specific Skills

The candidate would be responsible for cleaning crops
The candidate will be required to do regular weeding and grading activity in the farm.
The candidate would be responsible for mixing fertilizer in correct proportions.
The candidate will be expected to maintain and manage vine growth, vine canopy, and grapes.

Apiary and Honey Harvesting Specific Skills

The candidate will be responsible for harvesting honey.
The candidate will be in charge of handling, feeding, and caring for honey bee colonies in a seasonally appropriate manner.
The candidate should be well-versed in apiary work.
The candidate will be expected to detect and treat bee diseases.
