Job Description

  • The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • The candidate must read blueprints to determine the work requirements.
  • The candidate must be capable of erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • The candidate will be responsible for mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tending to or feeding construction machines and equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for directing traffic near construction sites.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and a Working at Heights Training Certification.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must be flexible.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in various locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.
  • The candidate must work on construction sites.
  • The candidate should work in a residential construction process that involves expanding, renovating, or constructing a new home or spaces intended to be occupied for residential purposes.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience using concrete vibrators, circular saws, concrete saws, chippers, and jackhammers.

Construction specialization

  • The candidate must specialize in residential construction and poured concrete.

Additional information

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have their own transportation.
  • The candidate must have their own vehicle.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
  • There is no access to public transportation.
