Job Description

The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
The candidate must read blueprints to determine the work requirements.
The candidate must be capable of erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
The candidate will be responsible for mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
The candidate will be responsible for tending to or feeding construction machines and equipment.
The candidate will be responsible for directing traffic near construction sites.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
The candidate must have a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and a Working at Heights Training Certification.
The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
The candidate should be client-focused.
The candidate should be dependable.

Work site environment

The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
The candidate must be able to work at heights.
The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.

Work setting

The candidate must work in various locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.
The candidate must work on construction sites.
The candidate should work in a residential construction process that involves expanding, renovating, or constructing a new home or spaces intended to be occupied for residential purposes.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

The candidate must have experience using concrete vibrators, circular saws, concrete saws, chippers, and jackhammers.

Construction specialization

The candidate must specialize in residential construction and poured concrete.

Additional information

Transportation/travel information

The candidate must have their own transportation.
The candidate must have their own vehicle.
The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
There is no access to public transportation.
