Job Description

  • Financial Planner is primarily focused on long-term relationships with clients via comprehensive reviews and focused on helping the client meet their objective.
  • Offer individualised financial planning advice in the areas of credit, investments, insurance, as well as everyday banking services.
  • Guide clients to reach their financial goal, both short-term and long-term, through a holistic approach to planning.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients by offering value-based relationship management strategies.
  • Strive to reach individual and portfolio performance targets by actively engaging with each client.
  • Develop and maintain favourable relationships with local communities and service partners in order to obtain referral sources.
  • Work with other team members in a high-performing and client-centric team environment to achieve success.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a comprehensive financial planning process to grow and manage a client base.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of clients’ financial situations and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Create comprehensive product offerings that encompass a range of services, including investment, credit and transactional banking.
  • Continuously develop new clients and expand on existing client relationships as they relate to achieving production expectations.
  • Establish and maintain robust referral networks with internal affiliates and local businesses.
  • Deliver high quality service through effective communication & fostering long-term relationships with clients.

Requirements

  • An IPF designation (Investment Planning Forum) and a mutual fund license (either an IFIC or a CSC).
  • You must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a financial planning/advisory capacity.
  • You must demonstrate strong skills in client acquisition, networking and managing relationships with clients.
  • You must have a successful history of developing and maintaining a referral network.
