Job Description

  • The candidate will read meters at customer sites by manually entering meter data or downloading smart meter information using an optical probe and handheld tablet, while collecting and maintaining meter reading records in written and electronic formats.
  • The candidate must plan daily field work activities based on geographic location and established priorities, communicate with customers as required, document site-related issues, and follow Check In/Check Out procedures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing on-site meter disconnects for electrical services and completing smart meter disconnection and reconnection activities using an optical probe and handheld tablet.
  • The candidate will be responsible for hand delivering customer notices, rescheduling service disconnections, and delivering 48-hour payment warnings in accordance with established on-site conditions and procedures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing visual inspections and investigations to complete Investigation Orders related to switched, damaged, or faulty meters.
  • The candidate will be responsible for initiating and completing Service Orders, following up on billing irregularities, investigating customer concerns, and updating account information for billing purposes.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tracking and reporting operational metrics, including activity completion times, mileage, administration time, and other performance measures.
  • The candidate may be required to provide Field Service Representative training and job shadowing opportunities to new staff members.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing other related duties of a minor nature as assigned that do not affect the overall rating of the position.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must possess a college diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • The candidate must possess a high school diploma.
  • The candidate must have experience in customer service.
  • he candidate must possess a valid BC Driver’s Licence.
  • The candidate must successfully complete the in-house Field Service Representative training program.

  • The candidate will be required to successfully complete pre-employment alcohol and drug testing as a condition of employment for this safety-sensitive position.

Work conditions

  • The candidate must be available to work approximately 9 shifts each month.
  • The candidate will be required to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • The candidate will be required to work overnight shifts as needed.
