Job Description

• The candidate must apply the technique of hoeing between the rows.
• The candidate will be responsible for cutting crops.
• The candidate will be responsible for dividing freshly harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots.
• The candidate will be responsible for grading vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch a high price in the market.
• The candidate will be responsible for greenhouse cleaning.
• The candidate must harvest vegetables by hand.
• The candidate must harvest seedlings.
• The candidate must pack fruits and vegetables.
• The candidate must sort fruits and vegetables.
• The candidate will be responsible for weeding.
• The candidate must clean the work area.
• The candidate must harvest crops.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must examine the product’s quality and readiness for the market.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.

Work site environment

• Farm operations include organic farming and other vegetable and melon farming (excluding potatoes).
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in a wet/damp, cold/refrigerated, and dirty environment.
• The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

Work setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.

Experience and specialization

Type of crops

• The crops are asparagus, carrots, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, vegetables, and microgreens.

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have experience in using a carrot seeder, onion seeder, onion transplanter, farm truck, tractor, vegetable harvester, and planting equipment.

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must have their own transportation.
• There is no access to public transportation.

• The candidate must have the ability to work independently.
