Job Description

  • The candidate will be in charge of harvesting crops.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be flexible.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include hay farming, oilseed farming (except soybean farming), other grain farming, and wheat farming.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate must be willing to work in rural and remote areas.
  • The candidate will be required to work in various locations.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience operating a combine harvester, haying equipment, a lift truck, a loader, a seed drill, a sprayer or duster, a swather, tillage equipment, and a tractor.

Automated systems experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with bulk grain or feed handling – automated.

Additional information

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have their own transportation.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
  • The candidate does not have access to public transportation.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced busy environment.
  • The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks on frequent basis.
  • The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
