Job Description

  • The candidate will be in charge of feeding inventory.
  • The candidate will be in charge of grading.
  • The candidate will be in charge of hand harvesting vegetables.
  • The candidate will be in charge of handling animals.
  • The candidate will be in charge of monitoring animal health.
  • The candidate will be in charge of weaning.
  • The candidate will be in charge of weeding.
  • The candidate will be in charge of harvesting crops.
  • The candidate will be expected to feed and care for animals.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate will be required to write basic progress reports on a daily basis.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

  • Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, livestock combination farming, organic farming, other miscellaneous animal farming, and other miscellaneous crop farming.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work in and on water.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights
  • The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in hazardous conditions.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp, dusty, hot, and cold/refrigerated conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
  • The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Work Setting

  • The candidate must be willing to work in a rural area.

Experience and Specialization

Equipment and Machinery Experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience driving a farm truck.

Automated Systems Experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with automated bulk grain or feed handling, as well as a feeding and watering system.
