Infinite Works Ltd., situated in Washago, ON L0K 2B0, is currently looking for applications for the role of Drywall installer, who is a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills. The selected candidate must start work promptly. The available positions are for Permanent employment or full-time jobs. The shift times for this position are Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend and Overtime.

Job Description

  • The candidate must read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
  • The candidate must apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster.
  • The candidate must clean and prepare surfaces.
  • The candidate must cure freshly plastered surfaces.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cutting and installing metal corner beads to protect the exterior corners.
  • The candidate must use trowels and broad knives to fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound.
  • The candidate must finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • The candidate must measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets.
  • The candidate must mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency.
  • The candidate must tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in the compound.
  • The candidate must cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets.
  • The candidate must install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • The candidate must install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools.
  • The candidate must install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation.
  • The candidate must prepare wall and ceiling layouts.
  • The candidate must erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate must be flexible.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a dusty and hot environment.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
  • The candidate should work in residential settings, handling tasks on one, two, and three-family dwellings.
  • The candidate must work in various locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.
