Job Description

  • The goal of this position is to provide assistance to clients through disability duration evaluation and get their recovery results.
  • You will work with Employers, Health Care Providers, and other affiliated internal departments as part of Return To Work strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, on a proactive basis, assigned Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability & Life Waiver Disability claims.
  • Review medical information and the job duties of individuals to assist in determining the anticipated length of time each person will be unable to work due to his/her medical condition.
  • Communicate with claimants, employers, and healthcare professionals in order to assess claims on an as-needed basis.
  • Utilize critical thinking and case analysis to assist with determining the claims eligibility.
  • Develop return-to-work plans in conjunction with an individual’s employer.
  • Support healthcare and rehabilitation programs so the individual can return to work in accordance with their vocational goals.

Requirements

  • Background in the fields of health and wellness, insurance, and/or customer service, and/or injury claims.
  • The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, listening and client-facing communication skills; effective planning, organization and time management skills.a solution-orientated approach coupled with sound decision-making abilities.
  • Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment as work independently.
  • Should be fluent in English & French.
