Job Description

  • Overseeing the administration of Airport Hubs and Customer Operations as the Senior Leader of Airports in Canada.
  • This position is Full-Time and requires 24-7 in Toronto at the Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).
  • This position will focus primarily on Safety, Customer Experience and Operational Performance.
  • The work environment is collaborative and involves internal teams as well as External partners.
  • Air Canada has a high profile within the Global Network of HUBS which provides high visibility and exposure throughout the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Should be responsible for leading and managing the administration, hub customers, and baggage flow teams at YYZ.
  • Should be the one to drive hub strategy, set planning initiatives, and define the level of operational performance expected.
  • Should also take care of staffing plans, allocation of workforce and management of unionized employees.
  • The time has come for you to always be the face of Air Canada to the airport authorities, government agencies, and partners.
  • You will conduct the processes with the utmost care involving safety first practices, compliance with regulations, and management of operational risks among others.
  • You are tasked with the budgeting operation, contract management with suppliers, and participation in the cost cutting projects.
  • You would be the one to improve the customer experience, get the staff involved and be the change catalyst in the company culture.

Requirements

  • A university degree or its equivalent in working experience is a must for the position along with 5-7 years of leading in Airport/Aviation Operations.The applicant must demonstrate essential leadership and team development skills.
  • Overseeing and administering a large unionized workforce is a part of the job, with a very strong focus on safety, customer experience, and operational excellence.
  • Communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills should be very strong, as well as having experience supporting a large operational environment that works round the clock.
  • The person needs to be able to work independently and to be able to come up with strategies too.
  • It is a plus if the person has experience in managing budgets and providing financial oversight, and has knowledge of regulatory/corporate compliance requirements.
  • The worker must be able to adjust their schedule to that of a 24/7/365 operation.
  • The person should be legally allowed to work in Canada.
