Job Description

• The candidate must clean the crops.
• The candidate must cut agricultural seeds following farm standards.
• The candidate will be responsible for grading vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume in order to fetch a high price in the market.
• The candidate must plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
• The candidate will be responsible for seed cutting.
• The candidate will be responsible for the wedding.
• The candidate will be responsible for fertilizing and spraying crops.
• The candidate must harvest crops.
• The candidate must assist in developing and implementing farm safety and biosecurity procedures.
• The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• The candidate must provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
• The candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
• The candidate must ensure compliance with farm safety and biosecurity procedures.
• The candidate will be responsible for maintaining work records and logs.
• The candidate must perform general farm duties.
• The candidate must examine the product’s quality and readiness for the market.
• The candidate must write daily basic progress reports.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must hold a Pesticide Applicator’s Licence, an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Certification, and a Forklift Operator Certification.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate should be a good team player.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
• The candidate should be reliable.

Work site environment

• Farm operations include fruit and vegetable combinations, other miscellaneous crop farming, and potato and vegetable farming.
• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in a dusty and dirty environment.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

Work setting

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have experience operating harvesters, tractors, farm trucks, vegetable harvesters, and forklifts.

• There is no access to public transportation.
• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

• The candidate must have the ability to work independently.
• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
