Hy’s Encore based in Vancouver, BC, is looking for candidates for the position of Cook with 8 vacancies. The ones chosen to be employed will be required to start work as soon as possible. Hy’s Encore has an approved Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to hire a foreign worker to fill skills shortages or labor shortages on a temporary basis. The vacancies refer to that of permanent employment and a full time job. The shift will extend from morning to day to evening to night and the candidate may be required to come in the weekend and work overtime as well.

Job description

The candidate will be required to train staff in preparation and cooking of food.
The candidate will be required to train staff in handling of food.
The candidate will be required to supervise kitchen staff.
The candidate will be required to take note of the helpers.
The candidate will be required to manage kitchen operations.
The candidate will be required to inspect kitchens.
The candidate will be required to look after food service areas.
The candidate will be required to clean kitchen and work areas.
The candidate will be required to maintain inventory and records of food and supplies.
The candidate will be required to maintain inventory and records of equipment.
The candidate will be required to prepare and cook complete meals.
The candidate will be required to prepare individual dishes and foods.
The candidate will be required to plan menus.
The candidate will be required to determine size of food portions.
The candidate will be required to estimate food requirements.
The candidate will be required to manage and estimate costs.
The candidate will be required to monitor supplies.
The candidate will be required to order supplies.
The candidate will be required to prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.

Requirements

The candidate does not require any degree, certificate or diploma to apply for this job.
The candidate should have an experience of at least 2 years to less than 3 years.
The candidate may opt for the position of Third cook or Second cook.
The candidate may opt for the position of Cook (general) or Line cook or Short order cook or Prep cook.
The candidate should have a Bondable checked.
The candidate should specialize in Canadian Cuisine.
Public transportation is available for the candidate to use.
The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
