Job Description

• The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
• The candidate must measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
• The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-operational inspections.
• The candidate will be responsible for instructing apprentices.
• The candidate will be responsible for mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
• The candidate must assist in pipe alignment during pipeline construction.
• The candidate will be responsible for assisting in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
• The candidate will be responsible for assisting in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs.
• The candidate must level earth to fine grade specifications.
• The candidate must operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move, and place equipment and materials.
• The candidate must pave and rake asphalt.
• The candidate must assist in the demolition of buildings.
• The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
• The candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance work.
• The candidate must clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
• The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
• The candidate will be responsible for tending to or feeding construction machines and equipment.
• The candidate will be responsible for directing traffic near construction sites.
• The candidate must prepare the flooring plans and scheduling.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must supervise drywall installers and finishers.
• The candidate must handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs), up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and more than 45 kg (100 lbs).

Work site environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate must perform underground work.
• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
• The candidate must work in dusty and hot environments.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have experience in operating bobcats, concrete vibrators, circular saws, concrete saws, grinding machines, jackhammers, air compressors, air guns, nail guns, drills, torches, chainsaws, compactors, forklifts, sandblasters, sledgehammers, hand tools, and roller painting equipment.

• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate must perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate must finish the work within the given timeline.
• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
• The candidate should be required to handle heavy loads as part of routine work.
• The candidate should have an eye for detail.
• The candidate must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• The candidate must be able to recognize similarities and differences between sounds.
• The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.

Own tools/equipment
