Job Description

• The candidate must prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted.
• The candidate must repair cracks and holes.
• The candidate must mix paint to achieve the desired colour and texture.
• The candidate must measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabrics to walls.
• The candidate will be responsible for advising customers on colours and the choice of wall coverings.
• The candidate must erect scaffolding and swing stages as well as attach rigging.
• The candidate must apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to both interior and external surfaces.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and a Fall Arrest Protection Training Course Certification.
• The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate should be client-focused.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate must be capable of acting independently and taking the initiative.
• The candidate should be reliable.
• The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must perform underground work.
• The candidate must be able to work at heights.
• The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
• The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.

Work setting

• The candidate must work in various locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have experience using airless spray equipment, brush painting, conventional spray painting, multi-ratio pump spraying, patterned rollers, and roller painting.

Testing equipment experience

• The candidate must have experience using wet micron gauges and dry micron gauges.

Coating/application specialization

• The candidate must specialize in aggregate painting, fire retardants, multi-color finishes, urethanes, and paint spraying.

Own tools/equipment

• The candidate must have steel-toed safety boots.
