Job Description
- The candidate must prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted.
- The candidate must repair cracks and holes.
- The candidate must mix paint to achieve the desired colour and texture.
- The candidate must measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls.
- The candidate will be responsible for advising customers on colours and choice of wall coverings.
- The candidate must erect scaffolding and swing stages as well as attach rigging.
- The candidate must apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to both interior and external surfaces.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate should be client focused.

- The candidate should be a good team player.
Work site environment
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
- The candidate must perform underground work.

Experience and specialization
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have experience using airless spray equipment, brush painting, conventional spray painting, electrostatic applications equipment, multi-ratio pump spraying, patterned rollers, roller painting and thermal spray equipment.
Testing equipment experience
- The candidate must have experience using moisture gauges, sling psychrometers, thermometers, wet and dry micron gauges, and holiday detectors.
Surface preparation experience
- The candidate must have prior experience with drywall taping/patching, water/hydroblasting, steam cleaning, flame cleaning and sandblasters.
Coating/application specialization
- The candidate must be skilled in aggregate painting, sign painting, novelty and decorative effects, fibreglassing, fire retardants, graphics painting, surface gilding, multi-color finishes, gas proofing materials, urethanes, metallized coatings, powdered coatings, tank linings, dipping, lead based removal and encapsulation and paint spraying.
Wood finishing specialization
- The candidate must be skilled in graining, marbleizing, staining and glazing.
Wall covering specialization
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about wall coverings such as wallpaper, vinyl, fabrics/upholstery, wood veneers, foils, and photographic murals.
