Job Description

  • The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • The candidate must help the medical examiner in charge.
  • The candidate must assist in pipe alignment during pipeline construction.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
  • The candidate must level earth to fine-grade specifications.
  • The candidate must clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tending to or feeding construction machines and equipment.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training Certificate, a Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, a Confined Space Entry Training Certificate, a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, a Driver’s License (Class 3 or D), a First Aid Certificate, a Fall Arrest Protection Training Course Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be hardworking.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in various locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.
  • The candidate must work on construction sites.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience in using bobcats, circular saws, concrete saws, grinding machines, jackhammers, air compressors, drills, torches, chain saws, compactors, sledgehammers, and hand tools.

Construction specialization

  • The candidate must specialize in the construction of industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings, as well as pipelines, residential structures, roads and bridges, and water mains.

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have their own transportation.
  • The candidate must have their own vehicle.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
  • The candidate’s travel expenses will be covered by the employer.
