Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for preparing and laying out base, excavating required dimensions, and compacting ground; installing concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs and gutters, driveways, wheelchair ramps, and related structures; setting rebar; and placing and finishing concrete.
The candidate will be responsible for measuring the amount of concrete required and ordering concrete.
The candidate will be responsible for repairing pedestrian trip hazards by grinding sidewalks and removing and resetting paving stones.
The candidate will be responsible for restoring landscaping and cleaning up job sites.
The candidate will be responsible for using cement finishing and masonry tools, as well as power equipment such as rollers, jackhammers, concrete saws, grinders, and similar tools, and performing routine maintenance and repairs to keep tools and equipment clean and in safe working order.
The candidate must comply with all safe work requirements, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and the installation of work zone perimeter protection such as signage and barricades.

Job Requirements

The candidate must have completed high school graduation or equivalent.
The candidate must have relevant experience.
The candidate must hold a valid BC Driver’s License – Class 5.
The candidate must possess the physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
The candidate will be required to show flexibility in performing a variety of tasks.
The candidate must demonstrate strong teamwork skills.
