Job Description

The candidate must collaborate with the broader team to develop strategies and manage end-to-end processes for discrete tasks, including project progress monitoring, reporting, forecasting, design management, construction management, field data management, problem solving, and escalation.
The candidate must engage with cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to establish clear expectations, facilitate complex decision-making, identify and escalate risks or roadblocks, and support project objectives.
The candidate must analyze and interpret complex financial or asset-related data using strong analytical skills to drive progress and strategic decision-making.
The candidate must verify field data for technical teams and translate complex technical solutions into actionable steps.
The candidate must maintain communication between field crews and technical teams to support the reporting and documentation of defects and site issues.
The candidate will develop and execute innovative strategies to maximize program efficiency and delivery.
The candidate will regularly meet with the team and project or program initiators to provide operational and financial updates and discuss common issues, strategies, and lessons learned.
The candidate will represent BC Hydro as the Contract Owner or Hydro Representative on contracts, support project teams in reducing contract claim exposure, participate in contract and claim negotiations with suppliers and contractors, and review or approve consultant and contractor deliverables and invoices.
The candidate must be available to travel as required for project delivery and team engagement.
The candidate must demonstrate BC Hydro’s culture while supporting the broader needs of the organization.

Job Requirements

The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership ability.
The candidate must have at least five (5) years of progressively complex project, program, or business management experience. Experience within utilities is an asset but not required.
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree, a Project and/or Program Management certification, or an equivalent combination of experience.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, along with strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
The candidate must demonstrate emotional intelligence and the ability to receive feedback and learn.
The candidate must have a good understanding of the electrical distribution system.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to connect the dots, remain focused on the task at hand, and see the bigger picture.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to be agile and adaptable.
The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
