Job Description

  • The candidate must sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • The candidate will be expected to use industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other waste.
  • The candidate must empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • The candidate must clean windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • The candidate will be required to make minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as contact tradespeople for major repairs.
  • The candidate must balance the rent roll.
  • The candidate will be responsible for contacting contractors for establishment repairs and maintenance.
  • The candidate will be expected to conduct safety and security checks.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising other employees.
  • The candidate must move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • The candidate will be required to perform other routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair.
  • The candidate will be expected to water and care for plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • The candidate must clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • The candidate will be expected to work with little supervision.
  • The candidate must clear snow and ice from walkways and parking lots.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work setting

  • The candidate will be required to work in an urban area.
  • The candidate must work in a factory or plant, an office building, a commercial building, a shopping centre or mall, a resort, or a hospital/medical facility or clinic.
  • The candidate will be required to work in various locations.
  • The candidate’s relocation expenses will be covered by the employer.

Experience and specialization


  • The candidate must have prior experience with industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers, carpet cleaning machines, polishing machines, waxing machines, steam cleaners, power tools, power lawn mowers, small tractors (lawn/snow removal attachments), upholstery cleaning equipment, and snowblowers.
