Job Description

  • The candidate must prepare reports or case histories.
  • The candidate must perform administrative and office activities.

  • The candidate must perform housekeeping activities.

  • The candidate must provide suicide and crisis intervention.
  • The candidate must resolve conflict situations.
  • The candidate must supervise the activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses.
  • The candidate must supervise children’s visits with parents to ensure their safety.
  • The candidate must implement behaviour management programs.
  • The candidate must conduct individual and group counselling sessions.
  • The candidate must liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients.
  • The candidate must maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of one to two years, or equivalent experience.
  • A candidate with experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must hold Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Certificate, HIGH FIVE training (principles of healthy child development) Certificate, a Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cultural Awareness Training Certificate, a Medication Administration Certificate, a First Aid Certificate, and a CPR Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate must be flexible.

  • The candidate must work in a children’s services facility to provide care, supervision, and support for children, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being.
