City of Coquitlam is located at Municipal Cemetery. The company is currently looking for applications for the role of Cemetery Supervisor. We are seeking a self-disciplined individual with exceptional interpersonal skills. The chosen applicant will be required to join and begin their duties as soon as possible. This role is offered on a regular full-time basis.

Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating cemetery services, including scheduling interments, managing customer service operations, administering records, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising cemetery administrative staff and ensuring service delivery meets standards for respect, efficiency, and compliance with City bylaws and provincial legislation.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supporting planning related to cemetery expansion projects, tracking service levels and inventory utilization, updating procedures, and contributing to improvements in cemetery administration and public services.
  • The candidate will work closely with internal departments, as well as funeral homes and families, and play an important role in maintaining accurate cemetery records and supporting long-term service sustainability.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must hold a diploma in park operations, project management, business administration, or a related field.
  • The candidate must have relevant supervisory experience in a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • The candidate must possess a valid Driverโ€™s Licence for the Province of British Columbia with a satisfactory driving record.
  • The candidate must be able to successfully complete a Police Information Check with no adverse findings.
  • The candidate with experience working in a municipal or government environment will be considered an asset.
  • The candidate with experience working in a cemetery setting will be preferred.
  • The candidate with knowledge of Stone Orchard Cemetery Management software will be considered an asset.
