Calgary Police Service – Facilities Analyst

Facilities Analyst helps guide the planning, upkeep and long term management of Calgary Police Service facilities. The role focuses on asset planning, budgeting and improving building performance so facilities continue to meet operational needs.

You will work with internal teams and external partners to review facility plans, manage asset programs and support capital planning. The position also takes part in system upgrades, risk reviews and business planning for the police service’s facility portfolio.

Job Description

  • Facilities Analyst supports the planning and long term management of Calgary Police Service facilities.
  • This is a permanent full time position based in Calgary with a standard 35 hour work week.
  • The role supports asset management, facility planning and capital development across the police service.
  • The position includes work with internal and external partners to support facility related projects.
  • An enhanced security clearance is required before employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation and documentation of division wide Asset
  • Management Program practices and procedures.
  • Provide asset management advice on internal policies, lifecycle management and industry practices.
  • Review facility operating and capital budgets with Facility Management.
  • Study long term planning needs for buildings and leased spaces and prepare future capacity projections.
  • Review the Building Condition Assessment process and related documentation.
  • Prepare business plans, presentations and financial reports for operating and capital planning.
  • Create strategies to reduce the maintenance gap across Facilities Management.
  • Assist subject matter experts with risk assessments and lifecycle renewal planning.
  • Lead systems upgrades and renewals and contract reviews.

Requirements

  • You will need a degree in architecture, engineering, business, commerce, economics, accounting or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work background in facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A Facility Management or Asset Management professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Work background in a policing environment, municipal governance or public procurement is considered an asset.
  • Strong interaction skills and relationship building skills are required.
  • Problem solving skills and sound judgment are required.
  • Successful applicants must pass a security clearance.
  • Proof of qualifications must be provided. Education completed outside Canada must have or can obtain an Education Credential Assessment.
