Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
  • The candidate will be required to connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.
  • The candidate will be expected to decide on work assignments.
  • The candidate will be expected to inspect, test, and repair cable signals and associated equipment.
  • The candidate will be required to install cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
  • The candidate will be expected to maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems.
  • The candidate will be required to repair or replace faulty cables, power supplies, and amplifiers.

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.

Experience and Specialization

Equipment and Machinery Experience

  • The candidate should be knowledgeable about aerial and underground cable lines, amplifiers, cable outlets, converters, splitters, and telecommunications systems.

  • The candidate must be bondable.
  • The candidate must have a basic security clearance.
  • The candidate should undergo a thorough criminal record check, drug test, driver’s licence validity check, and driving record check (abstract).
