Job Description
- The candidate must clean meat in preparation for processing or cutting.
- The candidate must cut carcasses, sides, and quarters.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
- The candidate must cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
- The candidate must wrap and package prepared meats.
- The candidate must remove the bones from the meat.
- The candidate must weigh meat for sale.
- The candidate must cut poultry into parts.
- The candidate must remove feathers, singe, and wash poultry to prepare it for further processing or packaging.
- The candidate must cut beef, lamb, pork, or veal carcasses—or sides or quarters of carcasses—into primal cuts for further cutting, processing, or packaging.
- The candidate must cut meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial, or other wholesale use.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the French language.
- The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades or equivalent experience.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
Work site environment
- The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
- The candidate must be able to work in a cold/refrigerated environment.
Work setting
- The candidate must be able to work in butcher shops, supermarkets, meat departments, and slaughterhouses.
- The candidate should work in a meat processing and packing plant/establishment that protects meat and meat products during processing, storage, and distribution from mechanical, chemical, and biological hazards.
